Agemark Senior Living, an industry leader in creating home-like senior communities for more than three decades, announced its upcoming acquisition of Sunrise Senior Living’s Brighton Gardens community located just north of I-680 and West Dodge Road. Close date on the acquisition is set for Dec. 1, 2022.
Agemark will take over management of Brighton Gardens of Omaha from Sunrise Senior Living. The Virginia-based company is the sixth largest senior living provider in the nation with more than 280 communities throughout the US and Canada. With the acquisition, Agemark will rebrand the Brighton Gardens of Omaha community to Astoria Senior Living effective Dec. 1. This addition marks the 27th senior living community under the Agemark brand.
Martin Hug, CEO of Agemark, says this addition strengthens the brand’s commitment to providing world-class senior living care – the type we would want for our own families.
“There’s a standard to senior living and then there’s Agemark,” said Hug. “Our communities focus on providing the strongest family attributes to our residents – sincere relationships, laughter, love, compassion and so much more. We are delighted to welcome employees, residents and their families to our Agemark family and look forward to learning more about how we can enhance the experience of this community.”
Since 1987, Agemark has prided itself on creating a collection of communities that provide older adults with the highest standard of care. In doing so, the company launched its own wellness program, LifeCycles which focuses on the four dimensions of wellness: physical, intellectual, social and spiritual. This in-house program recognizes and addresses the higher needs of each individual, making sure each resident has a strong sense of belonging and purpose. Agemark’s life enrichment philosophy also includes opportunities for residents to engage in daily activities and excursions outside the community. These programs are available to both assisted living and memory care residents.
“We strive to create remarkable experiences for all of those in our care, whether that’s our seniors, their families or the amazing employees who make Agemark everything it is today,” said Richard Westin, Agemark Co-Founder and Managing Partner. “We look forward to serving more individuals through the acquisition of this wonderful community.”
Agemark, headquartered in Elkhorn, currently employs more than 200 individuals across the Omaha metro and has been named a Best Workplaces in Aging Services™ by Great Place to Work five years in a row. The award-winning company also believes in the value of supporting the Omaha community by partnering with several local charitable organizations – particularly, the Nebraska and Iowa chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
