Agemark offers condolences and heartfelt support to those who have been displaced from their homes due to wildfires in Southern California. Agemark-managed communities Sage Mountain, Sage Glendale and The Terraces at Via Verde are all located in the Los Angeles Metro area. As a senior living company, the news of how many seniors have faced displacement from their homes is heart wrenching. These three Agemark-managed communities are offering a helping hand to seniors who have been displaced either from their family homes or other local senior living communities. The offer includes a waiver of a community fee, a 50% discount on the first four months of rent and care, and a fully furnished bedroom. Agemark’s hope is that local seniors can use this as a temporary or long-term solution as they consider their next steps and options. Agemark-managed communities require no long-term leases, and only a 30-day notice is required prior to departure.
Michael Pittore, Principal and Owner of Agemark Senior Living, and his father, Agemark Cofounder Jesse Pittore, have first-hand experience losing a home to a wildfire. In 2017, the Pittore family home was destroyed in wildfires in Napa County, CA.
Michael Pittore says, “In the aftermath of our home burning down, I remember my parents being shellshocked. Their whole world had been taken away from them. We quickly worked to solve our most pressing problems – where were we going to live and how we would rebuild our lives. Solving those problems felt like large mountains to climb. Resources and information were key for us, and we appreciated support from others. Compassion is a core value here at Agemark. We hope to do our small part to lend a helping hand to those in need by doing what we do best – providing exceptional care for seniors who need it. We hope that our offer assists seniors in need either temporarily or longer term while they consider their next steps.”
Sage Mountain, located in Thousand Oaks, CA, and Sage Glendale, located in Glendale, CA, both offer assisted living and memory care while The Terraces at Via Verde, located in San Dimas, CA, focuses only on providing specialized memory care. Residents of all three buildings benefit from a safe environment with staff on site 24/7, exceptional care teams, chef-prepared meals, life-enriching activities including outings and transportation, and a variety of apartment or suite options from which to choose.
